Boarding advice

What to write on dog boarding food labels

Kennel staff should not guess which bag is breakfast or how much to feed. Put the essentials on every bag.

Required on each label

  • Dog’s name
  • Date or day of stay
  • Meal time
  • Portion amount
  • Allergy warnings (if any)
  • Medication-with-meal notes (if any)
  • Storage note if needed (for example: refrigerate)

Optional: owner phone number, bag number (1 of 12).

Print meal labels

One bag per meal

Do not send one bulk bag for staff to scoop. Use one pre-portioned, labelled bag per meal.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, if it is clear; printed labels are easier.

Separate wet and dry food?

Yes, if portions or storage differ.

Treats?

Separate labelled bag; confirm they are allowed.

More than one dog?

Separate pack and labels per dog.

KennelReady helps you organise packing. Follow your veterinarian and your boarding facility’s rules for food, medication, and vaccines.
